sold in Vervendi auction
A Vietnamese blue and white porcelain jarlet. Painterly chrysanthemum blooms and leafage decoration freely rendered and with some oxidized, heaped cobalt. Fair to good condition: There are three points where old, hard wax has been applied presumably to smooth kiln faults and possible a small rim chip if not just another kiln fault (we don't like to restore items or interfere with old conservation.) Lists slightly. See third enlargement for illustration relevant to condition report. Otherwise, quite attractive and presents well. About 2 1/2 inches (6.35cm) height. About 3 inches (7.63cm) diameter.
